AC 11 (4 credits) – Applied Skills

Course Content: This course is designed as an introduction to accounting concepts for those seeking entry-level employment skills. Students gain insights into financial problems and solutions which have far reaching benefits for entrepreneurial and professional careers.

Evaluation: Students are evaluated on daily work, quizzes and tests.

Accounting 12

ACC 12 (4 credits) – Applied Skills

Prerequisite: Accounting 11 (“C+” or higher recommended)

Course Content: This course enables students to use industry-standard computer software and systems to analyze and solve accounting problems to produce and present accounting reports.

Evaluation: Students are evaluated on daily work and tests. All assigned work must be completed.

Programming with Adobe Flash -

ICTP 11 (4 credits) – Applied Skills

Prerequisite: Foundation Math10 (C+ or better) or BCA11 (B or better)

Course Content:The course is focused on creating internet rich application using Adobe Flash, which includes creating flash animation of text and images with tween, bone tool, incorporating media files into flash project, and publish the project into different portable devices such as iPad, PSP or cellphone. This course is also emphasized on cultivating programming sense by developing logic and algorithmic processes using Actionscript3. With Industry standard material and certified instructor, students are expected to be able to pass Adobe Certified Expert exam at end of this course. This course is tailored for students who are pursuing career in art, science and information technology fields.

Evaluation: Students will be evaluated by completion of assignments, projects, quizzes and tests.

Interactive Web Design with Adobe Flash Catalyst

ICTM11 (4 credits) – Applied Skills

Prerequisite: None

Course Content:This course is tailored for students with art, science and business affinity to explore and experience creation of internet rich application (interactive flash enabled website) via Adobe Flash Catalyst. This course enables students to turn their creative ideals into interactive application, to share and showcase their artwork (photograph/video) and business ideas with the world via internet, and create interactive digital portfolio for potential employers. This course also covers “common sense” of what is safe to publish to the internet, and how to respect copyrights.

Evaluation: Students will be evaluated by completion of assignments, projects, quizzes and tests.

Game Programming with Adobe Flash

ICTP 12 (4 credits) – Applied Skills

Prerequisite: ICTP11 (C+ or better)

Course Content:As a continuation of ICTP11, this course furthers students’ knowledge of programming and animation by exploring modern programming concepts of Object Oriented Programming. Student will create games and applications for many purposes. Incorporation of physics behavior and 3D elements will also be discussed. This course is tailored for students who are pursuing careers in art and information technology.

Evaluation: Students will be evaluated by  the completion of assignments, projects, quizzes and tests.

Business Computer with Microsoft Office 2010

BCA11 (4 credits) – Applied Skills

PrerequisiteNone

Course Content: This course is intended to equip students with fundamental knowledge of using the Microsoft Office 2010 Suite, which includes Word (word processing), Excel (spreadsheet), Power Point (slideshow), Access (database), and Outlook (email).This course also trains students to achieve employable keyboarding speed (50+wpm). This course is tailored for students who are pursuing careers in business, science and information technology fields.

Evaluation: Students will be evaluated by completion of assignments, projects, quizzes and tests.

Entrepreneurs 12                                                                                                                                                                                           ENT 12 (4 credits) – Applied Skills

Prerequisite: None

Course Content: All businesses begin with the ideas of an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs identify and explore opportunities, research the resulting ideas, locate and organize resources, and begin to turn the ideas into reality. Entrepreneurship 12 helps students to gain an understanding of the entrepreneurial spirit in the context of starting a small business. Students learn the skills necessary to effectively carry out entrepreneurial activities.

Evaluation: Students will be evaluated as follows: class projects, presentations, quizzes and tests.
